“American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi hasn’t made any public statements about being part of this season’s judge’s panel, but her dad, former NY Rep. Joe DioGuardi, is saying that she hasn’t been contacted by the show’s producers.

“Would you believe, that she did not hear, and still has not heard anything?” he said in an Aug. 10 interview with Capital Tonight.

Joe DioGuardi, who’s currently running for a seat in the U.S. Senate, said that he thinks the producers are just trying to get people talking. “I think what they’re trying to do, is create a lot of buzz like they did with Paula Abdul. They’re trying to reformat the thing,” he said in the interview.

Would the show go so far as to reformat the show without Kara? It’s definitely possible. Reps for “Idol” did not respond to repeated requests for comments about the accuracy of Joe’s statement, and Kara’s publicist did not respond to requests for comment, either.
