The lyrics connect the past to the present. Listen to the current styles and try to make the connection. If you can't...they are not worthy of the crown but totally recognized as a hip-hop artist. I see what you're saying Just G, but times change and so does music. Music has always evolved and progressed with the times, regardless of the genre. This is for "Today's Hip Hop King," which, according to the tests/studies they conducted, is from 2009-the present. I'm sure if the contest was for whomever exemplify's the rapping style or themes of the likes of Biggy or Pac then it would be Jay-Z. But not all rap is the same and not all rap deals with the subjects that you talked about. I think overall, as far as skill and dominance goes, today's rap king truly is Eminem... which is also backed up by the empirical data.
