Johnny Depp is one of Hollywood's elusive, and arguably, reclusive actors. Privacy is something he's always put at a premium, so it's no surprise that he'd be skittish about photographers and paparazzi. However, Depp crossed a line in the November Issue of Vanity Fair, where he likens having his picture taken -- even for photo shoots -- to rape. “Well, you just feel like you’re being raped somehow. Raped ... It feels like a kind of weird -- just weird."
Apparently not realizing until after the fact that rape is one of those words that is just not to be used flippantly, the actor has apologized.
Fox reports that Depp said, "It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling. I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology."
