Anne Hathaway goes undercover at Occupy Wall Street

    twitter.com/#!/Elana_Brooklyn

    By Courtney Hazlett

On Thursday, while at least 300 people were arrested during clashes between police and Occupy Wall Street protesters in New York, actress Anne Hathaway appeared to be peacefully standing by, showing support for students. We say "appeared" because the person who's being identified as Hathaway is somewhat incognito, in oversize glasses, with a hooded jacket.

According to @Elana_Brooklyn, who snapped the photo, Hathaway was holding a sign that read "Blackboards Not Bullets."

Anne Hathaway's full Catwoman costume revealed

    Splash News

Anne Hathaway and Gary Oldman are seen on the set of the next Batman film.

    By Courtney Hazlett

Anne Hathaway's diet of "kale and dust" is clearly working, at least according to this latest photo from the set of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Hathaway plays Selina Kyle in the third installment of the Batman trilogy, and as in the comic books, it's obvious that in the film iteration Kyle transforms into Catwoman.

"Dark Knight Rises" doesn't hit theaters until July 2012, but in the mean time, you can watch the film's official trailer here.

Red-carpet review: Anne Hathaway ditches the catsuit for 'One Day'

    Getty Images, Reuters

    By Kurt Schlosser

Much has been made about Anne Hathaway squeezing into the Catwoman suit for the next "Dark Knight" film, which is shooting in Pittsburgh. In a recent interview on "Chelsea Lately," the actress with an aversion to exercising said she was existing on a diet of "kale and dust" to maintain her figure for the unforgiving costume.

But, sorry Batman fans, let's take things "One Day" at a time. Hathaway is currently making the red-carpet rounds for a film now showing in theaters and there's no tight, black leather anywhere in sight.

Hathaway rarely disappoints in the fashion department and images above show her at the London premiere of "One Day" on Tuesday night, left, and at the New York premiere and after party, center and right.

Do you like the way Hathaway channels an older Hollywood glam, or do you prefer a more risque approach on the red carpet from your leading ladies? Share your thoughts here and on Facebook.

Anne Hathaway confesses to mooning co-star

    Focus Features

    By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

You don't usually associate elegant Anne Hathaway with college-boy-like pranks, but the actress confessed to TODAY's Matt Lauer that she mooned co-star Jim Sturgess while shooting her new romantic drama, "One Day," in Scotland.

"The street was locked off, but we were in front of an apartment building," Hathaway said. "It was a little naive."

She then confessed that she's "terrified" to Google herself for fear that someone in the building had a camera out and snapped photographic evidence of her indiscretion.

Hathaway noted that she herself has been mooned "plenty of times" on movie sets, but never been the "mooner" before.  "I decided to be a little naughty and go for it, and it blew right up in my face," she said with a laugh.

But not everyone found the prank embarrassing. Hathaway told Lauer that one older gentleman watching the scene gave Sturgess a thumbs-up after Hathaway's gesture.

Hathaway and Lauer also discussed the difficult structure of "One Day," which focuses on the same day of the year over 20 years in a relationship, her recent anti-paparazzi rap on "Conan," and how she's not allowed to leak any secrets from "The Dark Knight Rises," the 2012 Batman film in which she plays Catwoman.

    Watch the interview here.

Would Hathaway host Oscars again? 'Why not? Maybe. Perhaps. No!'

Anne Hathaway stopped by TODAY on Thursday to discuss her role in the new animated film "Rio," but it was her comments on another gig that was for the birds that caught our attention.

Hathaway told Matt Lauer that she was certainly aware of the harsh criticism that her hosting of the Oscars garnered -- alongside fellow actor James Franco.

"I just felt so much joy to get to be a part of movie history," Hathaway said, but acknowledged that critics called it "the worst show ever ... I think that qualifies as tough."

But she said reaction from fans on the street and her own takeaway from the evening are enough to make for memories that she will cherish and "tell her grandkids about, hopefully."

Academy president says 'chemistry seemed off' for Franco, Hathaway

    Michael Yada / EPA

Making a conclusion the rest of the Oscar-watching audience made on Sunday, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Tom Sherak told The Hollywood Reporter that "the chemistry seemed to be off" between hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway.

Sherak, however, did not go on to blame Franco and Hathaway for anything that seemed wrong about the Oscar broadcast. He said that they did exactly what the producers and the Academy asked of them, but, "the problem is, in the past when you have a comic, that comic can play off what happens on the show," Sherak said of the hosts. "I think that was missing. I think they were doing their job. Franco is a very charming guy, but sometimes you need a comic to make fun of things."

If there is any blame to be placed on the broadcast, which saw viewership fall and the average age of the viewer rise to 50.6 years, it's the crop of movies that came out in 2010.

"What happens is very much impacted by the movies in any given year," he told THR. "We didn't have an 'Avatar' or a 'Titanic' this year. We had some really good movies that did a lot of business, but it is what it is. Next year, if there is a huge movie, you'll see more people."

Spoiler alert! Oscar show rundown leaked

    Bob D'Amico / ABC

James Franco, left, and Anne Hathaway will serve as co-hosts of the 83rd Academy Awards on Sunday.

If you really can't wait until Sunday to know what's in store for the Oscar broadcast, then keep reading. Deadline Hollywood has obtained a rundown of the show, and if it's accurate (and you are fine with spoilers, this is your last chance to bail!) then there aren't going to be many risky surprises come Sunday.

What you can expect? Hilary Swank and Kathryn Bigelow will hand out best director awards ... James Franco and Anne Hathaway "pop up almost every minute," the show will open with Hathaway and Franco doing a Billy Crystal-esque taped spot where they appear in scenes from all 10 films that are nominate. There are things you won't see, too, like Franco and Hathaway doing any live musical numbers. Which might be a good thing, based on this.

You can read the complete details of the rundown here. Come back though and leave a note in the comments about how you think the show is shaping up.

Anne Hathaway's Oscar promo. Does it make you want to watch?

Let's be clear: every industry type I've spoken with has nothing but confidence in Anne Hathaway's ability to pull off hosting duties on Oscar night. It seems that it's really the general public who might have their doubts. Unfortunately, her latest promo doesn't doesn't exactly put those doubts to rest. But that's just my opinion. What do you think? Is she showing range here, or trying a little too hard? Are you excited to see her and Franco on Oscar night, or is it really the awards that matter? Leave a note in the comments.

On Globes weekend, buzz over Oscar hosts Franco and Hathaway

    Getty Images, EPA

How big a deal is it that James Franco and Anne Hathaway are hosting the Oscars? Big enough that at one of the biggest Golden Globes events of the season, the Bulgari-hosted fundraiser to benefit Save the Children and Artists for Peace and Justice, folks were abuzz about how the pair will do when their big night comes along in February.

According to one very well-placed source with the Oscars broadcast, it's Franco that is a bit of a wild card. "No one knows what they are really going to get from him. He's a good actor, but unproven in these situations. Plus, he's a little weird," said the source.

As for Hathaway, she's a sure bet. "She is a true talent. She can act, sing, dance, she's got it all. She's going to be great," the source said.

Will Katie Holmes boycott Oscars over host Anne Hathaway?

Those who tuned in to Anne Hathaway's Nov. 20 hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live" probably recall Hathaway's impersonation of Katie Holmes. That performance is what is reportedly prompting Holmes and her husband Tom Cruise to "boycott" the Oscars when Hathaway co-hosts this February (with actor James Franco).

According to a source who spoke to U.K. publication The Daily Mail, Holmes and Cruise were kind to Hathaway after her split from Raffaello Follieri and the "SNL" sketch was therefore disappointing. "Katie feels they were really supportive at a difficult time so she feels let down that Anne took to national TV to make fun of her," the source told the paper.

According to Holmes' rep, the entire story "is garbage," however, and there are no hard feelings whatsoever.

For what it's worth, Hathaway clarified her "SNL" performance after the fact, telling Access Hollywood, "I was a teenager when 'Dawson's Creek' was airing, and I was a pretty avid fan, so it just sort of came from that. It wasn't really Katie Holmes; it was more [her 'Creek' character] Joey Potter."

Anne Hathaway left with 'trust issues' after Follieri breakup

    Mario Testino for Vogue

In her upcoming film "Love and Other Drugs," Anne Hathaway is in what Vogue calls "a lot of steamy sex scenes," something that required the actress to dig deep emotionally.

"I was a wreck from start to finish," Hathaway told Vogue of filming the movie. "I think I cried every single day. I had to lean so much more heavily on everyone around me than I'm used to. I'm used to pulling my own weight. But I totally fell apart."

Hathaway might have been more vulnerable because she'd just ended her relationship with Raffaello Follieri, who was arrested for fraud and money laundering in June 2008, and is now serving a 4 1/2-year prison sentence.

"Look at where I was in my personal life,” Hathaway said. “Gosh, I hate talking about the breakup, because I don’t want it to define me, but as is to be expected, there were a lot of lingering trust issues.”
