If you had any lingering doubts that Jessica Simpson is running an unstoppable fashion empire, let us put them to rest. Thursday night, at the launch of her joint fashion venture with little sister Ashlee, Jessica told the press she’s already working on two or three new projects — and no, none of them involves singing.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Simpson, who’s expecting a child of her own soon, plans on adding clothes for pregnant women to her repertoire — and stuff for the under-5 set to run around in, too.

Simpson called the new girls’ collection, being produced by The Jones Group Inc., “a combination of both of our styles. She [Ashlee] is very rock ’n’ roll, and I’m very American.” She also said she just signed a deal for a maternity line, and will also be designing girls’ footwear. And should she give birth to a boy? Boys’ clothing is a possibility, too, she added.

Simpson will find out the sex of her unborn child on Monday, and if it’s a boy, we’d be willing to bet a line called Simpson by Jessica Simpson will be in stores by next spring.

So let’s recap: She’s got shoes, handbags, outerwear, denim, apparel, fragrances, luggage and and a jewelry line, all of which are more or less selling like gangbusters. Once she figures out a way to do men’s clothing and starts putting feelers out for a home collection, Jessica Simpson is basically going to rule the lifestyle category. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

Today isn't just the day Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, it's the day Jessica Simpson confirmed her pregnancy.

Simpson, who has avoided confirming or denying the matter, tweeted "!!!Announcement!!!" on Monday and then linked to a picture of herself dressed as a mummy, in belly-flaunting pose (above).

Simpson's rep told The Scoop that the post was indeed a confirmation of what many speculated; no other details were offered up.

Jessica Simpson took a trip to her Texas hometown and enjoyed a sunset stroll with family, amid rumors that she's expecting her first baby.

The week has been flush with outlets claiming to know precisely what is going on inside Jessica Simpson's uterus. But with no confirmation from Simpson or her publicists, and only suspiciously baggy clothing and teetotalling to go on, we're not going to pretend to know for sure whether Simpson's with child. Instead, we've rounded up the main talking points.

It's a girl! In swift fashion, we've moved on from "is she pregnant?" to knowing the sex of the unconfirmed baby. A friend of Simpson's reportedly told Life & Style that Simpson is telling people that having a girl is "like winning the lottery twice," and "girlie baby clothes" and nursery decor are already in the works.

Feasibility: Without any real confirmation from Simpson herself, WHO KNOWS.  As an aside, I remember when "friends" of Jennifer Lopez said the same thing -- a full two years before becoming pregnant with her twins.

Wedding before baby: Also from L&S, the wedding is still on! Mark Nov. 11 on your calendars. Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson are said to have plans to tie the knot in Hawaii.

Feasibility: Wedding details are typically easier than baby bumps to keep under wraps. Could happen. At least we know this: Simpson and Johnson are engaged, so they've got one part down.

A deal to cash in on: Simpson, according to Page Six, wants a paycheck in exchange for confirming news of her pregnancy. "We're told the Simpsons were asking up to $500,000 to close the deal," the paper writes.

Feasibility: This wouldn't be the first time the Simpson camp employed a pay-to-play strategy. This isn't out of the realm of possibility. If she is, in fact, pregnant.

Look for Jessica Simpson's wedding details to surface soon -- she's revealed that she has a wedding date, but no dress yet.

"I'm still trying to figure out what to wear! I don't know if I want the big boom, or the curvy thing, but it will be something beautiful," Simpson told Us Weekly. "I kind of have a couple ideas in my head, and I have a date; I'm really excited!"

Simpson is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, and says that she's not worried about losing any weight before her wedding. "I just have to work out on my own. There is no regimen I need to follow," she told the magazine. "There's no diet I need to follow. I just need to do some things for myself and that's it. And that will make me feel the happiest. No exercise is fun! I am going to dance around my bedroom and hopefully lose some weight, and lift some weights and do what I can."

• Jessica Simpson was the guest of honor at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood Style party Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are divorcing after less than three years of marriage.

Despite being in the midst of a divorce from Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz is finding support from her big sister, Jessica. The pair, along with Simpson's mother Tina, were spotted in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton in New York. The topic of discussion, according to Life & Style, was Pete and Ashlee's son Bronx.

“Tina talked about going to graduations together as a family for Bronx and how they were going to make the future work post-divorce," the magazine's eye witness reported. Wentz also insisted to the soon-to-be former in-laws that he has “zero rage toward Ashlee." 

What might have come between Pete and Ashlee? Pete's own recording success. After Wentz left the hotel, Tina was overheard saying, “Ashlee is jealous of Pete being on tour. She wants to be onstage having her own success,” according to Life & Style.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, her beau of less than six months, confirmed their engagement last Sunday, and reactions to the betrothal have been mixed. While some are happy to see Simpson find love again, many feel the timing is a little strange, as her ex-husband Nick Lachey had recently become engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.

But nothing was rushed, according to a source who spoke to Life & Style. "Eric specifically wanted to propose to Jess on Nov. 11," said the source. The significance of the date: Simpson reportedly has a new record label of her own, tentatively called ElevenEleven.

At the end of the day, Simpson does have the support of at least one important person: her dad Joe. According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, "Joe loves the attention that her engagement brings. He wants her to be happy, but he's also thinking about her career," alluding to the fact that Simpson has a holiday album, "Happy Christmas," dropping Nov. 22.
