Scooplets: Beyonce's impossibly tight dress, Daniel Radcliffe, more

    Evan Agostini / AP

That first step is a doozy ... Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala in New York on Monday.

    • Beyonce definitely chose form over function at Monday night's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. As Us reports, the singer's black Emilio Pucci gown was so tight she couldn't climb the stairs. Jay-Z and a friend had to literally carry her up and inside the venue.

    • Cancer is part of what inspired Sheryl Crow to move from Los Angeles to Tennessee. She tells Ladies Home Journal, "After I learned I had cancer, my life took on such a sense of urgency.  I knew my life was never going to look or feel the way it was before.  Having a life-threatening illness, even though it wasn’t going to threaten my life made me reassess everything.”

    • Actor Jim Caviezel made a name for himself portraying Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ," and says that since that role, he hasn't been able to get work. He spoke out about his troubles at an Orlando church, saying he was "rejected in my own industry." He also discussed Gibson, saying, "he's a horrible sinner, isn't he? Mel Gibson doesn't need your judgment, he needs your prayers."

    • Tony nominations were announced Tuesday morning, and one notable name was left off the list: Daniel Radcliffe, who stars in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Radcliffe is taking it in stride. He tells Celebuzz, "Obviously, it would be incredible to be nominated, but I care much more about John Larroquette getting a nod for Best Actor [in a Featured Role in a Musical.] I’d love him to win because he’s so brilliant in our show."

Scooplets: Rick Springfield arrested on DUI suspicion

    Getty Images

Rick Springfield is pictured in a booking photo provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in Malibu, Calif., on May 1.

    • (Updated 5:30 p.m. ET) Reuters reports that pop star Rick Springfield was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk through Malibu, Calif., in his vintage Corvette over the weekend, police said on Monday. Springfield, 61, was taken into custody on Sunday night after failing a field sobriety test, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman said in a statement. The singer, best known for his 1981 hit "Jessie's Girl," was stopped by sheriff's deputies after rapidly accelerating along Pacific Coast Highway. He "exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication," the statement said. A breath analysis showed that he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 percent, above California's legal limit of 0.08 percent, the statement added.

    • Lady Gaga's, controversial "Judas" video (which runs seven minutes, and cost $10 million to create) will not premiere on MTV or the Internet, but rather on E!, May 5.

    • "Rock of Ages" is the new "New Years Eve," with a ridiculous, ever-growing star-studded cast. The latest is Bryan Cranston; he joins Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti and Julianne Hough.

    • What to expect when you watch Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern interpretation? Han Solo. "The character is somewhere in the middle. He’s a classic male," Reynolds told the L.A. Times. "Han Solo, who was witty but not really funny, was one of the touchstones.” You can read the full piece here.

    • "Glee" star Jane Lynch will appear in "The Three Stooges," according to Deadline. She will play Mother Superior, who runs the orphanage where the trio grows up.

    • Soon, Justin Bieber's 3-D biopic won't be the only place you can see the Beebs on the big screen. Bieber is teaming up with co-star Mark Wahlberg for an as-yet-untitled street basketball drama.

    • Randy and Evi Quaid's exile to Canada, an effort to escape the "star whackers" who have allegedly plagued them, has not been a silent one. They took "A Night with the Quaids" to a Vancouver theater, and Vulture chronicled the randomness.

    • Chew on this: Britney Spears is not to be in the same room with hot dogs, pizza, cookie dough ice cream.

    • While airlines aren't doing much to fix their food problems, they are focusing on their in-flight entertainment issues. Namely, the "issue" of getting glasses-free 3-D technology on planes.

    • At long last, Roger Ebert has finally won a New Yorker caption contest.

    • If it were part of a reality show you might not believe it: "Real Housewives of New Jersey" starKim Granatell and Michael Lohan are dating, and working on a Fort Lauderdale-based teen rehab project together.

    Matt Sayles / AP file

    Jeremy Renner.

    • In good casting news: Jeremy Renner has been offered the lead in "The Bourne Legacy." "An agent in a different covert government program than the on that ensnared and pursued Matt Damon's Jason Bourne," according  to Entertainment Weekly.

    • Miley Cyrus has royal wedding fever! Specifically, she'd like to be one of Kate Middleton's flower girls. Because she knows their dresses "will be amazing," the AP reports.

    • Today’s hot trailer: “The Help.” And yes, Emma Stone (who plays Skeeter) is every bit as precociously charming as you’d expect.

    • After years of pretending it didn’t happen, David Letterman’s ill-fated Oprah/Uma joke from the 1995 Academy Awards surfaces on  YouTube.

    • Elton John is returning to the Las Vegas Strip for a three-year run at Caesars Palace. The five-time Grammy winner announced Monday he'll return with his "Million Dollar Piano" show to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas starting in September.

    Billie Joe Armstrong.

    • Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong has a lot to say in Details about politics, Sarah Palin and stealing a limo from David Letterman.

    • Good thing Miley Cyrus re-joined Twitter. Otherwise, how would she show off that recent dreamcatcher tattoo?

    • A sneak peek at a scene from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II" was included in the DVD/BluRay for Part I, and the featurette is now making the rounds online.

    GQ

    Jennifer Lawrence.

    • Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar-nominated star of "Winter's Bone," is apparently ready for a change of seasons. The 20-year-old actress sports a pink bikini by Chloe in a spread for the May issue of GQ.

    • Regardless of whether we need more movies about the economic collapse, George Clooney is set to produce and maybe direct one. This one will be based on the "$700 Billion Man."

    • Taylor Swift didn't spend $700 billion, but she did recently buy her mom and dad a $1.4 million home in Nashville.

    • A 'Harry Potter' couple is engaged. Our little Ginny Weasley is all grown up.

    • "Sweet Valley High" is going to get the big-screen treatment! EW reports that Diablo Cody ("Juno") wrote a script for a feature-film version of the series.

    Brendan Mcdermid / Reuters

    Taylor Swift.

    • Taylor Swift is so squeaky-clean, she’s asked that her entire tour will be “strictly sober” and submit to random drug and alcohol testing. This according to the Scene Queens over at Life & Style.

    • Elizabeth Hurley isn’t dwelling on the demise of her marriage to Arun Nayar. “I’m comping quite well, actually,” she tells People.

    • The space-themed album coming from William Shatner is a step closer to becoming a reality. Over at his website, he’s got the playlist up, and it includes “Rocket Man,”  “Space Cowboy” and more.

    Jason Kempin / Getty Images

    Bradley Cooper.

    • Looks like Bradley Cooper has another film in the works: he's reportedly in talks to take over the lead in a remake of "The Crow." He'd play the part originated by Brandon Lee, who was killed by a freak accident during production in 1993.
